Brighton is part of Brighton & Hove city located next to the English Channel in East Sussex. The city has a massive draw for visitors who enjoys its independent shops, arts scene, theatres, and diverse restaurants and cafes. Brighton Pier is among the landmark attractions, the Royal Pavilion too and the city itself contains a wide range of people from older Brightonians to students. Originally called ‘Brighthelmstone’ as recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, the settlement particularly developed in the Georgian period, when sea air and sea bathing were believed to be good for the health.
Whenever there’s a heatwave you can be sure that the national newspapers will show photos of crowds flocking to the beaches in Brighton. Visitors come not just from the Sussex area but further afield such as London. That stereotype of families sitting on pebbled and sandy beaches enjoying ice creams is a reality when it comes to summer months in the city. There’s also the general relaxing atmosphere, which really attracts people. The combination of lovely weather, superb eateries and cafes and excellent independent shops makes for a perfect holiday climate. The beach isn’t just about bucket and spade. There’s leisure facilities such as volleyball, the pier and even a seafront railway line to the Marina. Brighton is an epicentre for relaxation and fun. The city is well-resourced for all kinds of pleasurable activity.
Competent Person Registration Scheme - HETAS
The installation, replacement or any alteration to the position of a solid fuel combustion appliance (wood burning stove) is subject by law to building regulations. Competent person schemes were introduced by the Government in 2002 to allow individuals to self-certify that their work complies with these regulations; as an efficient alternative to notifying the local authority or using an approved inspector. I am part of such a scheme - see below - which gives customers reassurance that my work is legally compliant.
HETAS is the official body recognised by the Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses. To achieve this objective, HETAS operates a registration scheme that supports installers and businesses involved in this area to work safely, efficiently and within the various regulations which apply to the work involved.
TLC Liners and Stoves is HETAS registered and, after commissioning your wood burning stove, a certificate will be issued.
