Eastbourne is a seaside town and borough in East Sussex. The town is known for being a tourist attraction with seaside attractions and activities, complemented by Victorian era hotels, as well as theatres and a good array of restaurants and shops. A typical trip to Eastbourne will involve enjoying fish n’ chips or ice cream, with a walk by the sea and then opting to visit one of the attractions. Eastbourne Pier is a particular draw for visitors and there is also a Napoleonic fort with a military museum. The landscape is wonderful with the South Downs and nearby Beachy Head cliffs as a backdrop.
Eastbourne offers a lot of sightseeing facilities. Shopping is another pastime and The Arndale Centre, opened in 1981, and constructed on the site of Ashford, Tideswell and Junction Roads, plays a major role with a diverse range of retail outlets. Other shops abound in Eastbourne, such as in the Terminus Road area. The pleasant combination os seaside facilities and entertainments such as theatres, alongside the shops, create a very enjoyable day out.
Eastbourne is dominated by the South Downs. The Eastbourne Downdland Estate is very visible from the town. Chalk from the estate is seen along the coastline, somewhat eroded to the west, in the Beachy Head vicinity. Nearby sites include Willingdon Down, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, with a splendid chalk grassland bountiful in flora. Seaford to Beachy Head, in the district of Eastbourne, holds the same accolade, encompassing the Seven Sisters and Cuckmere. There are intriguing nature trails from the Downs to such namesake landmarks, which also include Birling Gap beach with its strong tides, East Dean and the Belle Tout Lighthouse.
Competent Person Registration Scheme - HETAS
The installation, replacement or any alteration to the position of a solid fuel combustion appliance (wood burning stove) is subject by law to building regulations. Competent person schemes were introduced by the Government in 2002 to allow individuals to self-certify that their work complies with these regulations; as an efficient alternative to notifying the local authority or using an approved inspector. I am part of such a scheme - see below - which gives customers reassurance that my work is legally compliant.
HETAS is the official body recognised by the Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses. To achieve this objective, HETAS operates a registration scheme that supports installers and businesses involved in this area to work safely, efficiently and within the various regulations which apply to the work involved.
TLC Liners and Stoves is HETAS registered and, after commissioning your wood burning stove, a certificate will be issued.
