Pembury is a quaint village not far from Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Copingcrouch Green, the local village green, is the epicentrefrom which local shops and pubs are centered. It was in fact first noted on a map in 1629. Pembury Hospital is NHS-run and provides general services for the local populace. The hospital opened in September 2011 andit is known to be the first acute NHS hospital in England, which has separate room and en-suite facilities for patients. Pembury has been inhabited since the Iron Age period and merged in modern times thanks to the get-together of five hamlets, namely: Lower Green, Upper Green, Romford, Bo-Peep and Hawkwell. Beagleswood, Woodhill Park and Ridgeway housing estates have added to the development.
More than 6,000 residents live in Pembury, based on latest figures. Villagers are proud of their village and like to keep a distinct identity compared to the much larger Royal Tunbridge Wells. There are limited shops in the village centre, with a newsagent, post office, hair salon, chemist and bank; as well as some takeaways and estate agents. Thirsty residents have their sorrows assuaged in the plentiful beer available in the local pubs. There are a number of different leisure socieities and clubs as well; which all help the village centre to thive and retain a lively environment in which to live and work – there are different businesses too, all in the area of Pembury.
Competent Person Registration Scheme - HETAS
The installation, replacement or any alteration to the position of a solid fuel combustion appliance (wood burning stove) is subject by law to building regulations. Competent person schemes were introduced by the Government in 2002 to allow individuals to self-certify that their work complies with these regulations; as an efficient alternative to notifying the local authority or using an approved inspector. I am part of such a scheme - see below - which gives customers reassurance that my work is legally compliant.
HETAS is the official body recognised by the Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses. To achieve this objective, HETAS operates a registration scheme that supports installers and businesses involved in this area to work safely, efficiently and within the various regulations which apply to the work involved.
TLC Liners and Stoves is HETAS registered and, after commissioning your wood burning stove, a certificate will be issued.
