TLC Stoves and Liners

Rusthall village is only two miles west of Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent. It is so-named due to a grand home known simply as ‘Rusthall’ on Rusthall Common, from which the settlement developed. It is etymologically linked to the Anglo-Saxon word ‘uuelle’, meaning a well of natural iron. In the current day, Rusthall evokes modernity in its culture with a good commuter link via train to Tunbridge Wells and also with touristic highlights such as ‘Toad Rock’, an intriguing rock formation. Rusthall used to provide accommodation for visitors to the spa waters in T Wells. Rusthall itself has bath waters, although they are not used these days.

Rock formations have played a central role, not only physically but culturally, in the development of Rusthall with a particular site known as ‘Toad Rock’ attracting interest from visitors further afield, as stated above. Lower Green is another main area, with an assortment of homes from the Victorian period onwards. From an aesthetic point of view, the setting is remarkable and worth visiting when sightseeing in the village. The modern village of Rusthall itself saw developments from the 1800s period and today the community is friendly, focused on the future of Rusthall as a residential area and passionate about the welfare of residents, both young and elderly.

Competent Person Registration Scheme - HETAS

The installation, replacement or any alteration to the position of a solid fuel combustion appliance (wood burning stove) is subject by law to building regulations. Competent person schemes were introduced by the Government in 2002 to allow individuals to self-certify that their work complies with these regulations; as an efficient alternative to notifying the local authority or using an approved inspector. I am part of such a scheme - see below - which gives customers reassurance that my work is legally compliant.

HETAS is the official body recognised by the Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services including the registration of competent installers and servicing businesses. To achieve this objective, HETAS operates a registration scheme that supports installers and businesses involved in this area to work safely, efficiently and within the various regulations which apply to the work involved.

TLC Liners and Stoves is HETAS registered and, after commissioning your wood burning stove, a certificate will be issued.
